Day Four of London Fashion Week – I was really looking forward to this day… lots of great designers as well as Burberry.

The day started off with morning Monday traffic to Peter Pilotto – which was at the Topshop Venue (great Venue!) spacious, and they had coffee and breakfast ready for all the attendees, which made the early morning show all the more enjoyable. This season, Peter stuck to his signature prints but with stronger, darker colors with fluos. The color palette consisted of navys and metallics with sequins and colored fur – another key trend for F/W 2012!

It was freezing outside… all I needed was a Peter Pilotto F/W’12 puffa jacket!

Peter Pilotto is available at Boutique 1.

Second stop, Antonio Berardi – I can always count on Berardi for perfect structured dresses that flatter. The venue was beautiful and included a fairytale staircase. The F/W’12 still kept to Berardi’s structured pieces such as dresses and blazers, but included a palette of black, teal, and nudes. As for the dresses, this season, Berardi introduced new shapes to his collection such as the full skirt – all I can say is… this man knows how to make a dress.

I was really impressed with Michael Van Der Ham’s S/S’12 collection, so I couldn’t wait to get to the Topshop Venue for a quick bite and check out his F/W’12 collection. One of my favorite collections this season, and one I would see myself wearing! Michael knows how to mix the right textures, hems, and materials together to achieve the perfect mix. The collection featured everything from stripes, sequins, prints, asymmetric hems and slits with a palette of darks and color. Still in awe…

Last show of the day for me… and one that I have been looking forward to all season – Burberry! This show is always a highlight for me – whether it is the actual collection or setup – it is always an experience that is worth remembering. Chris Bailey definitely didn’t disappoint this season… he presented a calm atmosphere, which is always appreciated during hectic Fashion Week. The collection featured paper boy caps, bow belts, tweed, plaid with a palette of khakis and dark colors – I especially loved the sequin pullovers and puffer trench – as well as the velvet trench coat. All in all a great collection, great soundtrack, great casting of models, and a great venue!

Pictures coming soon.

London Fashion Week’s highly anticipated Burberry Prorsum show streamed live today via MSQRD. In typical British fashion we poured afternoon tea, served biscuits and watched live as Suzy Menkes, Mario Testino, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Eddie Redmayne, and will.i.am took their seats in Hyde Park.

At ten minutes past 4pm UK time (probably the most on-time of all the shows this week) the first model hit the white runway and set the scene for what was to follow for the next twenty minutes: a polite, gentlewomanly show. The color scheme consisted of mustard yellows, military greens, burgundys, and every shade of gray imaginable. Tweeds, cottons, wools, cashmeres, and velvets with leather accents in the form of over the wrist studded gloves and structured bags that could easily become the It bag of the season added to the heavily layered looks. Perhaps taking a cue from Kate Middleton’s wardrobe, all the skirts and most coats were knee length and taking a cue from the late Diana’s wedding dress, all the bomber jackets (and a few blouses) sported the full-on puff sleeve. The coats were ruffled, zipped, buttoned, belted, buckled, and cinched; and the hips? wide, padded, and pocketed. Naturally, this look might only work if you are 5’11 and don’t have hips to begin with. Ah, English humor. Something that should work for all of us however is the cinched waist. Wrap your waist in a cord if necessary this F/W but do be certain that it is properly fitted and bow-tied.As usual, the few suited men that speckled the runway were a delight on the eyes. After all, what woman wouldn’t want to take a Burberry man-boy home to mummy?

The last look of the show featured the most luxurious and regal color of all: a plum purple, quilted, velvet coat fit for a Queen, or at the very least, in what was perhaps another nod to Kate, a Queen in waiting.

Day Three of London Fashion week! Due to being swamped with work ever since arriving to London on the first day of LFW… I sadly only ended up making one show – Marios Schwab. I am a huge fan of Marios’s work… he is a young designer but one that has really built a great name for himself here in London and in the US with his famed Halston collections. His second season (after leaving the Halston mainline) and this is hands down one of my favorite collections from Schwab.

A magical show – everything from the clothes, to the ambiance, to the sound track was perfect. The collection featured hats (a key trend for Fall/Winter 2012), lace, creams, as well as mesh and leather inserts. A trend Schwab showcased as seen in other collections are slits – they were everywhere from dresses, to skirts, to pants. The color palette included mint green and burgundy and I especially loved all the embellishments and crystals. This show was definitely one of my favorites for London Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2012.

Marios Schwab is available at Boutique 1.

When I received a gigantic key as a show invite to attend the Mulberry presentation on Sunday morning at 10am, I did not know what to expect.

The key opened the door to Claridge’s Ballroom to reveal a new and very luxurious collection inspired by all things wild and mysterious expeditions through faraway lands. Bench seats were covered in soft, shaggy goat hides reminiscent of monster fur and two gigantic monsters stood tall on either side of the runway.

The journey through the wardrobe to a land of fur textures, mysterious prints, beautiful cuts, and romantic layers – silk, lace trim, and voluminous soft fabrics all worked together to create a contemporary take on vintage womens wear silhouettes.

Among the guests at the show was the lovely American singer Lana Del Rey clutching her white ostrich Mulberry ‘The Del Rey’ bag due to hit stores this May. We also caught a glimpse of Elizabeth Olsen, Michelle Williams, Pixie Geldof, and Azealia Banks.

Stella McCartney, who has not shown in London in 16 years, gave everyone a treat last night with a show during LFW. Considering that her own label catwalk shows are held in Paris, it was a welcomed return to the Brit scene.

Stella celebrated her role designing for the Great Britain Team in this summer’s Olympics with a one-off return to London, presenting a collection of evening wear.

The collection was presented Saturday night during an intimate dinner affair in the presence of celebrity friends including Rihanna, Alexa Chung, Kate Moss, Mario Testino, Simon and Yasmin Le Bon, Shalom Harlow, Amber Valetta… a pure red carpet star event.

We can say that this was THE event of London Fashion Week.

Day Two of London Fashion Week! Due to London’s traffic on a Saturday, I ended up missing Aquascutum and started my first show of the day at Moschino Cheap & Chic – One of the highlights for this season as Moschino Cheap & Chic was showing at London Fashion Week for the first time… Coming into the show, I expected to see colors, prints, and lots of fun pieces and that is exactly what their Fall/Winter collection consisted of. The collection was all about powder puffs, chunky details, rainbow fur, and cute statement slogans. The color palette displayed powder shades with a touch of brights – creating a super fun and quirky collection.

Todd Lynn was all about simplicity and minimalism – a little different to what we have been seeing on the runway over the past two days. The collection included key trends such as structured jackets, suiting, and well-cut leather. This season featured exquisite long lapels, and cutouts with a color palette that included dark olives and metals with a touch of colored fur. The models had simple looks too, with slicked back low ponytails. Loved the Todd Lynn for Louboutin boots!

Temperley, a very British brand is always one show I love attending, the venue is always just as spectacular as the show, and the collection is always so dreamy. With a palette of gold, creams, and whites, the collection included prints, sequins, belted coats, leather patches, lace, embellishments, and lots of silk. The models topped off their looks with a loose bun or fur hat. Yet another winning collection from Alice Temperley!

I ended the day at the Temperley X Filofax after party – Good night!

As soon as I touched down in London after a week in Dubai, I rushed to the first show of the day – Corrie Nielsen. The collection was very Victorian and Scottish inspired and featured draping, lace, and great attention to detail. The collection was nothing short of a fairytale inspired setting. All in all, a great collection from the former Fashion Fringe winner!

Second stop – Fyodor Golan. This is a brand worth watching – Harvey Nichols snapped it up for S/S 2012 and I couldn’t wait to see what they had in store for us this F/W 2012 season. The design duo are great at mixing textures and each piece exuded quality and structure.

Next up, the Turkish designer based in London, Bora Aksu. This season, Bora took his typical edginess down a notch and showcased pastels, grays, a mix of brights, and some masculine pieces such as blazers and vests. Bora Aksu collaborated with the handbag brand, Bracher Emden for this collection, with models sporting super luxe pieces..

The last show of the day was Jean-Pierre Braganza. Another brand that has collaborated with Bracher Emden for F/W 2012. What I loved most about this collection, was the great variety of graphic prints and the mix of purples featured. The asymmetric hems made every piece interesting. The collection included a mix of jacquard, metallics, fur and structured cocoon sleeves.
